Chandigarh: In a bid to check increasing cases of human trafficking in the state, Home Ministry has decided to frame a law to curb the menace, the government said in an affidavit filed in Punjab and Haryana High Court on Saturday.
After an initiative taken by Punjab and Haryana High Court following reports where around 40 state youths illegally trafficked to Kuwait had appealed for their plight and threatened to commit suicide if their cause was not entertained, government filed an affidavit in this regard.
Affidavit says the law has already been approved by Governor and is pending under consideration of President of India.

The main focus of EMPOWER PEOPLE lies on awareness raising and sensitization trainings for law enforcement agencies. The organization is also offering direct victim support and assistance to women vulnerable to human trafficking and domestic violence.
