Human trafficking racket busted

Lucknow, Oct 20 (PTI): The Uttar Pradesh STF today claimed to have busted a human trafficking racket by arresting six persons from Kaiserbagh area here. The six were arrested on a tip off from Odean crossing and 45 passports, 16 original and photo copies of visas, fake certificates including that of technical proficiency, pan cards and some other documents were seized from their possession, Additional Director General, Law and Order, Brijlal told reporters here.

The arrested have been identified as Jamal Ahmad, Rakesh Yadav (both from Azamgarh), Sanaullaha, Guddu, Fazlealam and Radhey Shyam. The accused used to lure youths, mostly from eastern Uttar Pradesh, by assuring them jobs in the Gulf, Singapore and Malaysia.

After taking hefty amount from them, they would send them abroad on fake visas, he said. The Indian embassies had earlier asked to identify agents who were sending such youths to abroad where they were left on their own, Brijlal said.

Jamal, the gang leader, allegedly arranged visas for the youths with the help of Pushpa Intel of Mumbai and Ind trust travels in Chennai. During interrogation, Jamal confessed to have made his agents in Gonda, Balrampur, Siddharthnagar, Deoria, Jaunpur, Azamgarh, Faizabad and some other districts of eastern UP who would dupe youths on the pretext of providing them jobs, he claimed.

Jamal also had a shop ”Al-Falah associates” in Aminabad, from where the STF had found registration papers of Central Excise and other departments, the officer said.   Voice of Sikkim
