Girl rescued from redlight area
New Delhi, Dec 14 (PTI) A minor girl hailing from West Bengal was rescued from a redlight area in central Delhi, police said today.
The police raided a bungalow in GB Road yesterday and rescued the 17-year-old girl.
The girl told police that she hailed from Magrahat village in West Bengal''s 24 Pargana district.
"A person brought her to the national capital on the pretext of sightseeing but instead sold her. She was forced into prostitution and when she refused she was threatened," DCP (Central) Vivek Kishore said.

The main focus of EMPOWER PEOPLE lies on awareness raising and sensitization trainings for law enforcement agencies. The organization is also offering direct victim support and assistance to women vulnerable to human trafficking and domestic violence.
