Goa police bust prostitution racket operated by man from Bangalore
Busting a sex racket in Goa, the police today arrested two persons and rescued four girls, including a minor Nepali girl, from Dona Paula locality near Panaji.
The police arrested Nandish Gawda, a resident of Bangalore, and Hanumant Patil, from Rajasthan, who had brought these girls from Mumbai and a girl from Nepal to Goa for prostitution.
Police inspector Sandesh Chodankar said the racket was operating from Dona Paula. Police laid a trap and sent a decoy customer to nab the suspects who had brought these girls via Bangalore to Goa.
The girls in their statements have said they were promised good jobs in Goa but were then pushed into the flesh trade.
Both the suspects were presented before a judicial magistrate in Panaji who remanded them in police custody for a day.
