Police busts human trafficking racket, rescues ten
Rourkela: Police today claimed to have busted a woman trafficking racket by rescuing 10 minor girls and arresting four persons, including two women, at Bhasma in Sundargarh district, about 120 km from here.
The Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Sundargarh Sadar, Suresh Mishra said the girls in the age group of 15-17 years from Karamdih, Chalandmunda and Purenbuda villages of the district were travelling with four middlemen and women in a jeep to Jharsuguda to board a train to New Delhi.
The girls during the interrogation said they were promised a job in Delhi with salary of Rs 5,000 per month.
The girls were later handed over to their families.
All four were produced before a court at Sundargarh which remanded them to police custody.
