'Rapist' nabbed, police rescue girl from Patna
NEW DELHI: The south district police have claimed to have rescued a 16-year-old girl who had allegedly eloped with a man to Patna in Bihar.
The girl's family had claimed that she had been kidnapped from outside a reputed hospital in the Dhaula Kuan area. "We have established from our investigations that she went on her own free will. However, being a minor, her consent is unimportant in the eyes of the law. We have registered a case of kidnapping and arrested the accused," said a senior officer.

The 40-year-old kidnapper was allegedly raping her for the past one month.
A senior police official said that the victim, Neha (name changed), lives in the area with her parents in Satya Niketan while the accused is an employee of that hospital from where the girl was kidnapped.
"On March 9 the victim went missing. Her mother searched for her in a nearby area thinking that she would have gone to a relative's house but when she did not find her anywhere she approached the police. However, Neha's mother reported her missing to the police on March 17, eight days after she went missing. An FIR of kidnapping was lodged at Dhaula Kuan on March 17 and the investigation was started by the police. Several teams of senior officials were roped in considering the gravity of the matter.
"Neha's mother gave the police a tip-off about Kishan. Police contacted the hospital authority and got some clue about his whereabouts. A team was then sent to Patna to nab him and several raids were conducted by the police at Kishan's relative's place in Patna," said the police official.
The official said that on April 7 Kishan was finally arrested by the police and Neha was rescued. Police got the medical examination of Neha done in a government hospital and came to know that she was raped.
"After getting the medical report of Neha we added IPC section 376 (rape) in the FIR and charged the accused of rape," said the police official.
The police have taken the victim's statement in which she disclosed that she was waiting for someone at the gate of the hospital when the accused, Kishan, who was known to her, approached her. He gave her something to eat after which she fell unconscious. The accused then took her to Patna. "She has said that the accused developed a physical relationship with her for a month without her consent," said the police official. TOI
