Girl rescued by Maiti Nepal volunteers
PARSA, Sept 23: A girl was rescued from Birgunj on Thursday night while she was being sold off for money.
Volunteers of the Maiti Nepal Birgunj rescued Sapana Karki, 18, of Udayapur district from border checkpoint at Birgunj and sheltered her at Maiti Nepal´s office, according to Chief at Maiti Nepal, Birgunj Sangita Puri.
It is noted that the traffickers were about to sell her off at brothel in India. Traffickers are absconding, Pun informed.
Pun said they will hand over Karki to her parents on Friday.
