The court of judicial magistrate first class A M Patankar on Friday sent Tamang to police custody till December 20.
Tamang was arrested on the basis of a complaint registered by sub inspector U K Yadav under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act.
According to the police, Tamang had allegedly purchased the two women from West Bengal from unidentified agents about five months ago. She had taken a house on rent at Budhwar peth and confined the victims. Tamang abused them and forced them into prostitution.
Senior police inspector Motichand Rathod of the Faraskhana police station produced Tamang before the magistrate court at 2 pm.
Assistant public prosecutor Rajendra Suryavanshi told the court that custodial interrogation of Tamang was required to trace the agents and for finding out how many women she had purchased from them.
Suryavanshi sought time to trace the house owner who had rented the premises to Tamang and for recovering the property documents in the case.
The police have sought the help of a rescue foundation home, as the victims are in a state of fear.
Suryavanshi said that Tamang might be running more brothels in the city and sought time to find out whether she had induced minor girls into prostitution and prayed to send her to seven days police custody.
The magistrate upheld the prosecutions plea and sent her to four days police custody.
