Prostitution racket busted in Andheri

The Social Service Branch (SSB) of the Mumbai police on Saturday nabbed two persons, and rescued eight women from Andheri (East), for allegedly running an online prostitution racket. The officers who posed as probable clients, laid a trap at a flat in Anand Baug building on Andheri- Kurla Road from 
where the accused were nabbed. The two accused were handed over to the Sahar police who arrested them.
According to the SSB, the two arrested were Sanjay Yadav, 31, and Bhagirath Mandal, 42, while two of their accomplices Gopal Mandal and Jimmy are currently on the run. The men would advertise the ‘services’ offered by them through a website. The arrested accused have been booked under relevant sections of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA) for forcing the eight girls into prostitution, who were rescued during the raid.
Yadav and Mandal along with the rescued girls have been handed over to the police for further investigations. “We are currently on the lookout for Mandal and Jimmy. Investigations are on in the case,” said police inspector Bharat Jadhav from Sahar police station.
