Kidnapped Chinese girl rescued by Punjab police
AMRITSAR: Chinese girl who was kidnapped last night was rescued during midnight as she was found lying unconscious in the village fields, outskirt of the city.
Confirming about the rescue of the Chinese girl Zingloor (19), Police Commissioner of Amritsar Parampal Singh Sidhu said that Zingloor had come in the city from Jaipur along with her friend Zanglool to visit the city and to pay obeisance in the Harmandhar Sahib popularly known as Golden Temple.
Throwing light in the incident, Sidhu said that last night these two Chinese girls came in the contact of sepoy of GRPF (Government Railway Police) at the Amritsar Railway Station and gradually became friendly to each others.
Adding further Sidhu said that these sepoys helped them to arrange the taxi to take them to Golden Temple and then to hotel for night stay.
Situation took ugly turn when girls after paying obeisance in the Golden Temple were heading to hotel, these sepoys took the girl to outskirt of the city, wherein Zanglool asked sepoy to halt the car as she wanted to urinate. The moment Zanglool left car, the driver at the instance of sepoy sped up the car alongwith Zingloor who was later rescued in the village field.
Sidhu said that girls were showing reluctance to register case against the sepoy. Sidhu said that case to be registered against the GRPF sepoys for kidnapping the foreign national followed the statement of the girls before the judicial magistrate.
Police said that alleged accused have been arrested.
