NEW DELHI: Two minor girls were rescued from Uttar Pradesh by the crime branch. One of them was rescued more than three years after being `kidnapped' and the second girl was found a year after being `abducted'. However, both the cases turned out to be that of elopement, police said.

"One of the girls, a resident of sector-5 in Rohini, had been reported missing on July 30, 2007, and was recovered from Ghaziabad. The other girl, a resident of Najafgargh, had been reported kidnapped on November 6, 2009. The girl was found in Hardoi in Uttar Pradesh,'' said deputy commissioner of police (crime & railways) Ashok Chand.
